Chapter 3

The Christian Passover Seder Celebration

Shalom Chevarim, Shalom Yedee-eem (“Hello, friends, beloved friends”), Hag Semeach(“Happy Feast Day”). The leader begins with a simple prayer. |

Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. God, thank you for this evening, this chance to worship you, for your love, and for your son. Thank you for the Passover, Amen.

|The leader continues.|

Tonight is a special evening to our Father God and His Son Jesus. We are going to join with Christians and Jews around the world and have a Christian Passover celebration and dinner. We will be honoring God with many of the same symbolic elements that have been used for thousands of years. This is an evening with special foods, scripture reading, and symbolism that will remind us of two very special yet true stories. This first story happened many years before the birth of Jesus. God has instructed us to meet and remind ourselves how He delivered Moses and the Israelites from Egyptian slavery.

We will also be referring to the redemption offered by our Lord Jesus Christ. The story of how God delivered the Israelites from slavery is a picture of how Jesus died for our sins and we can be freed from spiritual slavery.

Now we will start the Passover Seder as Mother [or another designated female] lights the candles.
